Where to experience the best public toilets in the country? Baguio City’s got the answer!

The best public restrooms in the country are found in Baguio, according to the ASEAN Tourism Standards Awards.

If you’re after a top-notch public restroom experience in the Philippines, look no further than Baguio City.

The city’s public toilets at Botanical Garden and Wright Park recently snagged the prestigious “ASEAN Public Toilet Award” at the ASEAN Tourism Standards Awards held last month in Malaysia, according to Baguio City Public Information Office.

This is the second time that Baguio has been recognized for its efforts, as it claimed the award in 2023 as well.

This award, aimed at raising the bar for public toilet standards, recognizes toilets that tick all the boxes—from eco-friendly waste management, to spacious cubicles, and accessibility features for the elderly and the disabled.

The toilets also score high on criteria like cleanliness with well-ventilated, odor-free spaces that make anyone’s visit comfortable. Safety is a key factor as well, with secure lighting, materials, and construction.

Wright Park’s toilet facility opened in 2020, while the Botanical Park restroom followed in 2021.
