‘What you think, you become’: Miss Iloilo 2024 Alexie Brooks pens inspiring message to celebrate college degree

Miss Iloilo 2024 Alexie Mae Brooks earned her college degree ahead of the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night set for May 22.

Despite the struggles she faced, Miss Universe Iloilo City Alexie Mae Brooks has proven that resilience knows no bounds as she earned her degree in Business Administration from the National University-Manila on May 9.

“I overcame tumultuous storms of hardships and sufferings but surrounded by the steadfast love of my grandma and my aunt, to stand tall in this moment despite and in spite of,” Alexie said in a heartfelt Facebook post she titled, “WHAT YOU THINK, YOU BECOME.”

Alexie also said that while she “emerged from the shadows of a broken home,” she found solace and opportunity through athletic talents, paving her path to academic success.

“This is merely the prologue, a testament to the indomitable spirit fueled by determination, dedication, discipline, and dreams that span the infinite expanse of the universe,” added the fresh grad, also one of the 53 delegates competing to succeed Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee.

She also did not forget to thank her grandmother who took good care of her when she was still a little girl in Iloilo.

“To my grandmother, your unwavering faith and love has been the wind beneath my wings. This is merely the prologue, a testament to the indomitable spirit fueled by determination, dedication, discipline, and dreams that span the infinite expanse of the universe,” she said.

The Miss Universe Philippines coronation night is set for May 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
