Sugar Mercado just proved that it’s never too late to slay a new stage, this time, the pageant kind.
The former SexBomb Girls member has officially been crowned Ms. Universe Official 2025 at the Mrs. Universe Official 2025 pageant, and she’s still on cloud nine about it.
In a post that melted hearts and sparked laughs, the single mom shared that she still can’t believe she won and plans to literally wear her crown all day until it sinks in.
“Never in my wildest dream na magiging beauty queen ako. As in nevaaah!!,” she wrote, admitting that pageantry was never part of her plans.
“Sa bawat akyat ko nga sa entablado mula sa National at International Pageant lagi ko tinatanong sa sarili ko na tama ba tong pinasukan kong mundo ng pageantry,” she added.
But with a solid support system, including her mentor Wilbert Tolentino and close friend Herlene Budol, Sugar gained the confidence to own the stage like the natural performer she is.
“Sanay kasi ako makipag bardagulan at makipag kulitan sa entablado tulad ni kapatid Herlene Budol. Yung squammy ang atake pero pwede pala mangyari eto kung may tamang tao mag gagabay at nakakita ng potential sa kakayahan tulad namin ni Hipz ay di kami marunong mag ingles,” she added.
She also thanked her family, friends, and her team for their support. Sugar won several awards during the pageant held in Laguna, including Best Talent, Best National Costume, and Best Long Gown.
