Actress and single mother Jennica Garcia got the most heartwarming New Year’s gift in 2024—a painting from her youngest daughter that spoke volumes without any guidance.
The artwork wasn’t just any creation as it beautifully depicted their family of three, featuring Jennica, her eldest Athena Mori, and Alessi. The painting also included symbolic elements like rain, a rainbow, and a heart.
But what really touched Jennica’s heart was the accompanying message from Alessi when she presented the painting: “Here Nanay, it’s my New Year gift for you. It’s OUR Family,” as recalled by Jennica.
Reflecting on her five-year-old’s heartfelt gesture, Jennica realized that a complete family doesn’t always need to adhere to the conventional structure of a mother, father, and their children.
She shared her realization in an Instagram post, saying, “Alessi’s painting made me realize that being a single mom with two children does NOT make us a broken family. We are WHOLE.”
The 34-year-old actress further delved into their journey over the past years, highlighting the efforts to build their family without her estranged husband, Alwyn Uytingco.
“Looking at her work made me see what the past years have been for the three of us. We held hands and hugged tighter than usual during the season of storm,” she said.
“Time passed and during the year 2023, we moved through a different season where God displayed upon us the beauty of the rainbow. We experienced joy, hope, and new beginnings,” she added.
