May proteksyon na laban sa mga scammers ang mga gumagamit ng GCash gamit ang bagong in-application insurance option, ayon sa ulat ng GMA News.
Sa halagang Php 30 na Send Money Protect o SMP, makakaiwas na sa mga fake online sellers o scammers na nagpapanggap na kakilala para makapagpadala ng pera ang GCash user.
Ayon sa GCash, covered ng SMP ang Express Send transactions sa loob ng 30-day period. Kung mabiktima man ng scam, mayroong hanggang Php15,000 na coverage ang user basta nakapag-avail ito ng Php30 insurance.
Naging possible ito matapos makipag-partner ang GCash sa Chubb, isang world leader pagdating sa insurance.
