UPLB debuts cool new eco-ride for green campus travel!

UP Los Baños is introducing e-bikes and e-scooters for green campus travel under its Tipaklong Mobility Sharing Project.

When at the University of the Philippines-Los Baños, forget the old-school commute!

The university is trailblazing campus travel with its Tipaklong Mobility Sharing Project, which allows students, faculty, staff, and visitors to zip around the sprawling campus on sleek e-bikes and e-scooters, all at their fingertips through a handy mobile app.

Featuring 120 units stationed conveniently across 22 locations inside the campus, this green initiative isn’t just only for convenience but also a bold step towards eco-friendly transportation.

According to UPLB Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs Roberto Cereno, the initiative aims to create partnerships and develop mechanisms that will further promote alternative modes of transportation as part of the school’s goal to future-proof its university operations.

“The objective, as I mentioned, is to address climate change. This is one of the things we want to achieve – to act globally on this concern by implementing the Green Mobility Initiative,” said Cereno in a Philippine Information Agency report.
