Looking for that daily dose of happiness? It’s not just about buying new things or jet-setting to new places.

According to research from the University of Bristol, there are seven science-backed strategies to amp up those joy levels in your life. Outlined in “Science of Happiness” study, these habits are performing acts of kindness for others, cultivating social connections with both familiar and unfamiliar people, finding joy in and appreciating life experiences, reflecting on positive aspects of life, expressing gratitude and thankfulness, staying physically active, and practicing mindfulness and meditation techniques.

These practices contribute to improved well-being and can help manage stress, promoting a healthier and happier life overall.

The study followed 228 students who took positive psychology courses and found that these strategies cranked up their well-being by 10% to 15%. Over half of the students continued to use these happiness hacks, leading to sustained positive attitudes.
