Filipino food has been getting the spotlight through local stores, chefs, and restaurants, but now, it’s about to hit the big screen.
Pinoy filmmakers Chris and Hillary Soriano are taking Philippine cuisine to a whole new level with their upcoming documentary, “Authentic or Not.”
In an Instagram post, the duo announced that the official trailer for the film is out.
“From lumpia to lechon, sinigang to sisig, experience the passion, resilience, and creativity behind every bite. This isn’t just about food – it’s about identity, heritage, and the power of culture to connect us all,” the film’s page shared.
Described as a “delicious” documentary,” the film will take viewers on a flavorful trip through different parts of the Philippines and beyond, uncovering how Filipino food is impressing palates and winning hearts (and tummies) across the world.
“From the vibrant kitchens in the United States to the bustling streets of Hong Kong, and from Toronto to the Philippines, these restaurants are redefining what it means to be authentically Filipino,” said the filmmakers.
The “Authentic or Not” is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video this April.
