One Pinoy Lamb just unlocked the ultimate fanboy moment when he met his “hero,” Mariah Carey, in the flesh and even made her laugh with classic Pinoy humor.
OPM singer-songwriter Jeff Cifra, a die-hard fan of the “Songbird Supreme” and “Queen of Christmas,” shared on social media his unforgettable encounter with the global diva during her “The Celebration of Mimi” at SM Mall of Asia Arena on October 14.
According to Cifra, he and a few other fans got the rare chance to meet Mariah inside her dressing room. The moment the superstar greeted them with a bright smile, Cifra couldn’t resist adding a touch of Pinoy humor.
“Everybody curtsy in front of the Queen! We are in front of royalty!’” he recalled saying as they all bowed, and the gesture made Mariah laugh.
“I made Mariah laugh.🥹” he proudly wrote.
For Cifra, it was a dream come true. “I never, in my wildest dreams, would ever think of meeting her, let alone speak with her. But to be able to TALK TO HER IN LENGTH & MAKE HER LAUGH is the BIGGEST MIRACLE OF MY LIFE,” he said, adding that Mariah was “beyond gracious and kind” and “100x more beautiful” in person.
