Queen of All Media Kris Aquino made her first public appearance in years, and it was all for a good friend.
Despite her ongoing health struggles, Kris showed up at the People Asia Awards 2025 to support fashion designer Michael Leyva, among those honored as one of the magazine’s People of the Year 2025.
Kris’ surprise appearance at the event also coincided with the 39th EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary, which catapulted her mom, the late Corazon Aquino as president.
According to Kris, she made an effort to be there for her good friend Michael because he is more like family to her and remained supportive even during her years in treatment.
“So it’s really he’s more than just a friend. He’s really like the younger brother I never had. And there are people who say that I’ll be there for you or maaasahan mo ako. But Michael has proven that so many times and in so many ways. And he gave his two cars to us!” Kris shared.
