The OG of Pinoy girl power, Tandang Sora set to shine with her own museum in QC

The revered Philippine revolutionary icon, Tandang Sora, is finally getting a long-overdue museum to immortalize her pivotal role as the "Grand Woman of the Revolution."

Quezon City just revealed something major: they’re giving the OG of Pinoy girl power her very own museum.

In a recent post on X, the local government revealed the details about the upcoming “Tandang Sora Women’s Museum,” a dedicated space to keep the spirit of Melchora Aquino alive.

“Itatayo ang Tandang Sora Women’s Museum sa Quezon City bilang pagkilala sa ‘Ina ng Katipunan at Himagsikan’ na si Melchora Aquino de Ramos o mas kilala bilang Tandang Sora,” said the QC government.

For those who need to brush up on their history lessons, Tandang Sora was the unsung hero who provided shelter, medicine, and heartwarming words to sick and wounded revolutionaries. Plus, she hosted super-secret meetings for the Kataastaasan Kagalang-galang na Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan (KKK).

According to the QC government, the museum is gearing up to be a public wonderland that will reveal in detail the inspiring life and heroism of this iconic Philippine heroine. It’s also set to shine a spotlight on the untold stories of women who rocked the scene and played major roles in gaining Philippine independence.

Joining forces in this epic project are not just the Quezon City government but also the Tandang Sora Research Team and the ARC LICO design consultancy firm, making it a power-packed trio ready to drop the ultimate girl power experience.
