Filipino-American singer Olivia Rodrigo truly made the most of her first visit to the Philippines.
From enjoying halo-halo and joining a boodle fight to exploring the historic streets of Intramuros, Olivia’s trip embraced the rich local culture her fans had hoped for. And of course, her ultra-successful “GUTS World Tour” in Manila was nothing short of legendary, but calling the experience “memorable” would still be an understatement.
What truly made Olivia’s visit unforgettable was her generous decision to donate all the net ticket sales from her Manila concert to Jhpiego, a nonprofit dedicated to women’s health.
Taking to Instagram, Olivia shared her excitement over partnering with Jhpiego Philippines. “I’m SO stoked that all the net ticket sales from last night could be donated to @jhpiego through my fund 4 good,” she wrote.
“I got to visit the organization while I was in Manila and was so impressed by the work they are doing providing healthcare to women and girls in the Philippines. It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip,” she added.
Jhpiego Philippines was just as moved by Olivia’s gesture, expressing their gratitude in an Instagram post.
“Thank you @oliviarodrigo for joining us at our Jhpiego Philippines office. It was great to talk about women’s health and invite you into a zine-making workshop led by an amazing group of teen girls,” it said.
It also emphasized that Olivia’s Fund 4 Good and Jhpiego share the same vision: empowering young women and girls to thrive everywhere.
