‘The greatest in every land he visits’: Pool icon ‘Bata’ Reyes proves legends never fade at World Pool Championship!

Pinoy billiards legend Efren "Bata" Reyes gets rockstar treatment in World Pool Championship visit in Saudi Arabia.

When you hear “legend,” you might think of someone beloved by the older generation. But that’s not the case for the G.O.A.T. of Philippine billiards, Efren “Bata” Reyes. Known as “The Magician,” he continues to get rockstar treatment wherever he goes, captivating fans of all ages.

In an Instagram post by Matchroom Pool, Reyes was seen enchanting the crowd at the 2024 edition of the World Pool Championship held recently in Saudi Arabia. From getting VIP escorts to endless selfies and hand-numbing autograph sessions, Reyes continues to mesmerize the pool world.

“The greatest in every land he visits,” said Matchroom Pool. “Look what it means to everybody to have Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes here with us at the #WorldPoolChampionship,” it added.

Even Matchroom Pool CEO Emily Frazer couldn’t resist getting up close with the 69-year pool master.

In a separate post, Frazer was seen personally guiding Reyes around the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal City Sports Hall.

Reyes even got to hold and lift the championship trophy, which was later won by American Fedor Gorst. It brought back memories of his 1999 World Pool Championship win.
