Even though it’s never fun to be bashed, internet celebrity Whamos Cruz has learned how to turn the tables by embracing a more positive approach to dealing with his critics.
During a conversation on “Luis Listens with Luis Manzano,” the TV personality revealed that even though he is often ridiculed and maligned for his relationship with his partner Antonette, he has received plenty of requests for the vlogger to be on his channel.
In a casual conversation, the vlogger drops a few truth bombs about his experience in handling the constant stream of online bullying and bashing.
“Sanay na ako kuya, immune kumbaga kahit ano sabihin mo wala na, labas masok na lang sa akin, pumasok sa akin pero lalabas din kaagad siya, ang ginagawa ko kung ano yung bina-bash nila sa akin sinasakyan at sinasakyan ko lang, ‘yun pamba-bash nila sa akin ginagawa ko lang pera,” he said.
Acknowledging that it’s no fun to be the subject of criticism, he expressed that he’s simply waiting for the day his bashers grow tired of making him the butt of their jokes. On a positive note, he said he is happy to entertain them to their heart’s content.
“Pero kung tutuusin ayoko naman ng mga isyu or bashing mahirap din naman sa sitwasyon na ganun na lagi ka na lang bina-bash ‘di naman habambuhay simula umpisa hanggang dulo nasa bash ka pa rin industriya ng mga basher. Game ako na pasayahin ko kayo nang pasayahin,” he added.
Whamos rose to fame for his moniker “lamok” (mosquito), coined by his critics who compared his appearance to that of an insect. The situation escalated when he entered a relationship with Antoinette, a beautiful teenager at the time they met. More bashers emerged, criticizing the gap in their looks and their age. Luckily, the pair weathered through the challenges.
Throughout all these, Whamos expressed gratitude, noting that all the unwanted attention gave him a successful career as a vlogger and social media influencer.
“Thank you pa rin kahit basher kayo, nanonood pa rin kayo ng mga vlogs namin, views pa rin yun,” he quipped.
