Filipino cartoonist Kevin Eric Raymundo, known to many as “Tarantadong Kalbo,” is joining the lineup of the prestigious Lakes International Comic Art Festival.
He gained popularity for his viral and award-winning artwork “Tumindig,” which inspired many Filipinos to stand up against oppression and corruption.
The Lakes International Comic Festival is a gathering of comic artists from all around the world and is an annual event that takes place from the last weekend of September to October. This year, it will happen from September 29 to October 1 at the Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria, England.
“Tarantadong Kalbo” will join the event that will feature French artist Lucie Arnoux, animation director and multi-media artist Eldo Yoshimizu.
Also included in the lineup are Mari Ahokoivu, Darryl Cunningham, Marc Jackson, Jacob Phillips, Mehdi Annassi, aka Machima, Charlie Adlard, Gustavo Duarte, Hunt Emerson, Mai Koraiem, Michael Lark, Lucie Lomová, Dave McKean, Steve and Annie Parkhouse, Sean Phillips, Festival poster designer Mohamed Salah, David Shenton, Rachael Smith, Bryan and Mary Talbot, “Awkward Yeti” creator Nick Seluk, among others.
