Three out of the four semifinalists in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup 2023-24 are under the San Miguel umbrella with Phoenix being the lone outlier.

The San Miguel Corporation (SMC) teams are flexing their championship muscles yet again, claiming a staggering 13 out of the last 15 PBA championships.

Now, in the 2023-24 Commissioner’s Cup, they are making sure their dominance remains untouched with all three of the SMC teams able to capture three out of the four semifinal seats.

The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots became the first to capture a Final Four seat after easily disposing of the TNT Tropang Giga in the quarterfinals.

The San Miguel Beermen and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings immediately followed suit after winning in their respective QF matchups with the Rain Or Shine Elastopainters and the NorthPort Batang Pier, respectively.

The Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, meanwhile, was the only team not belonging to the SMC umbrella to make it to the semifinal stage after dispatching the Meralco Bolts.

But in winning all the marbles, the Beermen and the Gin Kings will have to slug it out with each other in the Best-of-5 series. On the other hand, Magnolia and Phoenix will engage in a race-to-three-wins affair.

The semifinals for the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner’s Cup kick off on Wednesday, with the SMC holding a 75 percent chance to win the title.
