Single mom’s dream job derailed by Wattah Wattah festival turns into heartwarming OWWA search!

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) steps in to rescue a single mom’s dream of working abroad after the Wattah Wattah festival prevented her from showing up for a job interview.

During the wild Wattah Wattah festival in San Juan City, an aspiring overseas Filipino worker (OFW) saw her dreams dashed when she got soaked on her way to the job interview.

But all is not lost for the still unidentified single mom as she’s now the focus of a heartwarming search by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), aiming to give her a second chance at her dream of working abroad.

In a Facebook post, OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio said they had learned about her plight from an anonymous post on social media she made about her unfortunate experience. Moved by her story Ignacio and his team have launched an extensive search to find and help her.

“Please come to OWWA at yung kanyang nawalang pagkakataon ay gagawan natin ng paraan. Yung iyong kausap na agency ay makontak natin at makahingi tayo ng chance for you to fulfil your dreams,” said Ignacio.

“I hope you can get in touch with us dito sa OWWA so we can give you the proper guidance at yung nawala sa iyo ay iyong mabawi. We shall wait for you to contact us,” he added.

OWWA amplified the search with a separate post, calling out: “Mommy! Kung sino ka man at nasaan ka man ngayon, hinahanap ka ni Admin Arnell! We’re here to help.”
