Lee Dong Wook’s action series “A Shop for Killers” earns props from New York Times.

While “Squid Game” may be in the running for a Golden Globe already, another Korean series topbilled by Lee Dong Wook has already claimed the crown as one of New York Times’ Best International TV Shows of 2024.

In its list of Best TV Shows of the Year, the Disney Plus series “A Shop for Killers” emerged as a top choice, along with other international hits like “Shogun”, “My Brilliant Friend”, “The Day of the Jackal”, and “Everything is Fine.”

According to the publication, “A Shop for Killers” is a feast for the senses with its “hyperbolic, post-Tarantino energy, a Darwinian mind set and an eye for track suits.” It revolves around a young woman who discovers after the death of her uncle that he has been running a secret shop of weapons for assassins at the basement of her childhood home.

During its run, the series received rave reviews from fans who clamored for a second season after the first season ended in a possible cliffhanger.
