When it comes to dream workplaces, Filipinos have their eyes on Ramon Ang’s San Miguel Corp. (SMC). The conglomerate snagged the top spot as the most desired employer in the country, while the Asian Development Bank led among NGOs.
This was revealed in JobStreet’s Employee Job Happiness Index 2024 survey, released by its parent company SEEK, according to an Inquirer report.
The study highlighted what job seekers value most when on the hunt for their ideal workplace: a convenient work schedule or location, company reputation, and alignment with company values. Other factors like work, culture, benefits, and job security also played a significant role.
The survey also revealed that 38% of Filipinos turn to media, including social media, news outlets, and online articles, to search for potential employers. Company websites followed at 17%, with word-of-mouth at 14%. Jobstreet advised companies to ramp up their visibility on these platforms to attract top talent.
Also making the list of sought-after employers are big names like Accenture, Ayala Corp., Google, JP Morgan Chase & Co., SM Development Corp., Nestle, Globe, Procter and Gamble, Aboitiz, Amazon, Banco de Oro, and outsourcing firm Emapta.
