The Philippines capped its SEA Games 2025 basketball campaign with a historic double-gold performance as both the men’s and women’s national teams defeated host Thailand in their respective finals in Bangkok.
Gilas Pilipinas Men edged Thailand, 70–64, overcoming a familiar slow start and roster challenges to secure back-to-back Southeast Asian Games gold medals.
Gilas Pilipinas Women reclaimed the women’s basketball title with a hard-fought 73–70 victory, completing a perfect 4–0 tournament run and earning their third gold medal in the last four SEA Games editions.
Known as a basketball country, fans cheered the twin victory and paid tribute to the grit of the players who defeated their opponents in their home court.
