Pinoy Olympian boxer Nesthy Petecio takes a swing at coaching to inspire future boxing stars!

Pinoy Olympian Nesthy Petecio cherishes the chance to teach and share her knowledge with the next generation of boxers right in her hometown of Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur.

For many athletes, paving the way for the next generation is a lifelong goal after reaching the heights of their careers. And it looks like Olympic silver medalist Nesthy Petecio is already making moves on that front.

Recently, she took her first step into coaching, guiding the young boxers in her hometown in Santa Cruz, in Davao del Sur.

In a Facebook post, Nesthy recently shared her experience working with the Santa Cruz Davao del Sur Boxing Team.

“Binigyan ng chance masubukan mag coach sa Santa Cruz Davao Del Sur Boxing Team! Salamat pa, at hinayaan mo ako i-coach mga boxers mo at ipagkatiwala sila sakin. Siya naga warm up, ako lang naga corner coach sa kanila,” said Nesthy.

“Isang maganda at nakakapagod na experience ang babaonin ko, bilang isang atleta, (soon to be coach na ba this?),” she added.

In her post, she also encouraged young boxers to keep pushing forward with their dreams, no matter how tough things get.

“Sa mga boxer ng Santa Cruz Davao Del Sur, nakaka-proud kayo! Patuloy niyo lang nasimulan niyo, at darating din sa tamang timing, oras at ibibigay ni lord ang mga pangarap niyo..,” she said.

“Handa ako ishare ang mga natutunan ko sa boxing sa inyo.. one step at a time lang muna tayo,” she added.
