Pinoy gymnast Carlos Yulo shines bright at World Cup tilt with gold and silver wins

Paris Olympics-bound Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo credits his coaches and supporters for his international success.

Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo is already setting the stage on fire for his upcoming performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He clinched both gold and silver at the 16th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup held recently in Doha, Qatar.

In an impressive display of skill, Carlos secured the gold in the Apparatus Final Parallel Bars with a score of 15.200, outshining competitors Yuan Hsi Hung of Chinese Taipei (14.966) and Caio Souza of Brazil (14.566).

The 24-year-old Olympian almost captured double gold but gracefully settled for silver after scoring 15.066, which was just a shade lower than the winner Artur Davtyan of Armenia (15.166) in the Apparatus Final Vault.

Carlos had already qualified for the Paris Olympics via the World Championships last year in Antwerp, Belgium. Despite his international success, he remains humble, attributing his achievements to his coaches and supporters.

“Sa team ko na napaka-maalaga at umaalalay sa bawat training at mga plano, Coach Aldrin + Coach Hazel! Maraming salamat po, mas pag husayan pa po natin sa mga susunod na plano ni Lord para sa atin,” said Carlos in a Facebook post.

“Sa lahat po ng mga nag dasal para sa amin, para maging safe at maging matagumpay ang competition, sobra ko po kayong na aappreciate,” he added.
