PH women’s softball team hits a homer in world rankings with meteoric rise from No. 31 to No. 14 in a year

Philippine Women's Softball Team makes the biggest jump in world rankings as it now holds the 14th place out of 65 countries.

Big cheers for the Philippines as it makes a remarkable leap on the world stage of women’s softball.

According to the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), the Philippines secured the title of the “most improved nation,” soaring an impressive 17 positions from No. 31 to a stellar No. 14 by the end of the year.

Major jumps in the latest WBSC global rankings were also seen for Cuba (up by 16 spots) and Singapore (up by 12 spots).

Meanwhile, the USA Women’s Softball Team clinched the top spot on the WBSC Women’s Softball World Ranking for the third consecutive year, solidifying their dominance in the global softball scene.

The Philippines’ impressive rise follows their strong fourth-place finish in the 2023 Women’s Softball Asia Cup held in Incheon, South Korea.

This incredible momentum sets the stage for their upcoming participation in the 2024 Women’s Softball World Cup, which Ireland, Italy, and Spain will co-host.
