PH karate team gets huge medal haul in ASEAN meet

The Philippine National Karate Team secures a series of massive wins at the 11th Southeast Asian Karate Federation Championships.

The Philippines dominated the 11th Southeast Asian Karate Federation Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing home a dazzling array of gold, silver, and bronze medals.

In a celebratory post by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), it hailed the heroic efforts of the Philippine National Karate Team, which placed 4th in the regional tournament.

“Congratulations to our Philippine National Karate Team for taking home six gold, one silver, and 16 bronze medals from the 11th Southeast Asian Karate Federation Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand!” said the PSC.

Sealing victory with gold were karate champs Sebastian Neil Mañalac, Joan Lumbao, Sakura Alforte, Arianne Brito, Alwyn Batican, and Kirk Zamayla. Jamie Lim secured the country’s lone silver medal.

Copping the bronze medals, on the other hand, were Jeremy Nopre, Rebecca Torres, Jodan Macalipay, Alexis Villacarlos, Nathaniel Olivar, Tyler Thompson, Zian Sing, Jan Lozada, Abdulhakim Abdulrakim, Gianneamber Delacruz, Ariane Brito, Christian Lachica, as well as Team Cadet, Junior Male Kata, Team Senior Male Kata, and Team Senior Female Kumite.

“Salamat sa inyong husay!” declared PSC.
