Pandesal Power! Pinoy breakfast classic earns Top 10 spot on Taste Atlas’ Best Bread Rolls

The classic pandesal, an all-time breakfast favorite among Filipinos, has secured a spot on Taste Atlas’ Top 40 World’s Best Bread Rolls.

Finally, the ultimate Pinoy breakfast classic, pandesal, has just secured its place on Taste Atlas’ Top 40 list of the World’s Best Bread Rolls.

This beloved bread roll, best paired with a steaming cup of coffee, clinched the 10th spot on the coveted list with a 4.1 rating.

Taste Atlas described the humble pandesal as a staple on many Filipino breakfast tables and celebrated for its versatility with fillings like cheese, corned beef, or coconut jam.

“Over the years, its simple ingredients of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt have provided comfort and sustenance to generations of Filipinos,” said the food website.

The top spot is occupied by Colombia’s pan de bono, followed by pao de queijo, marraqueta, pampushka, cassava bread, almojábana, New York City bagels, pan de queso, and bolo lêvedo.
