Netflix just dropped the live-action ‘Avatar’ trailer, and fans are officially in freak-out mode!

Fans of Nickelodeon’s popular animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” were relieved to see a more faithful live-action adaptation of the classic show.

Fans of Nickelodeon’s epic animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” are eagerly anticipating the live-action release by Netflix this February.

With the trailer release of Netflix’s version, fans of Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, and the rest of the gang are more hopeful that the series will be more faithful to the original material compared to the deadly serious live-action movie helmed by M. Night Shyamalan in 2010.

When Netflix originally set out to film the live-action series, original show creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko were on board as producers and showrunners. However, as the studio and the showrunners had different visions for the project, DiMartino and Konietzko exited the team and left Netflix to do their thing.

With the trailer release, fans expressed excitement with the new adaptation’s visuals and approach. They were also relieved that the characters they loved seemed more faithful to the characters they grew up with on television.

“This looks incredible. I’m really excited for this. Bumi looks so sick!”

“Everything looks so much like the original. The bending, the avatar state, the animals, the clothing… And the dialogue! It sounds just like the original too; maybe not word by word, but it keeps the spirit intact. Also, I love that reference to the opening sequence with Aang crashing into the rock statue”

“Sokka being snarky. Faith restored.”

Avatar: The Last Airbender drops on Netflix on February 22.
