Dwight Howard, the eight-time NBA All-Star, had the Philippines buzzing with excitement as fans couldnโt get enough of the basketball legend during his visit.
Fast forward less than a month, and it seems the admiration is mutual, with Dwight singing praises for the Philippines, Filipinos, his teammates at Strong Group Athletics, and his coach, Charles Tiu.
In a post on X, Dwight expressed nothing but admiration for everyone who made his brief but unforgettable stint in the Philippines special.
“Charles Tiu is a great coach ๐๐พ and The Philippines is a great country ๐๐พ๐ต๐ญ” wrote Dwight on X.
“Thank you all for having me and allowing me to represent your country,” he added.
We came together for 2 weeks, only had a few practices together and fought all the way to the championship! Charles Tiu is a great coach ๐๐พ and The Philippines is a great country ๐๐พ๐ต๐ญ Thank you all for having me and allowing me to represent your country ๐ซถ๐พ pic.twitter.com/8SUrpL1Eti

Dwight starred for the Strong Group Athletics during its participation in the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championship. The team zoomed to the Finals of the tourney carrying a 7-0 card but faced a setback against Al Riyadi in the championship match.
Despite not getting the storybook ending they hoped for, Dwight expressed immense pride in the teamโs achievements. “We came together for 2 weeks, only had a few practices together, and fought all the way to the championship!” he said.
Now, the burning question isโis Dwightโs Philippine chapter over, or is there more to come?
