It sounds like a rom-com plot, but this one happened IRL.
Carla Abellana’s reunion with her high school sweetheart after her failed marriage came full circle as she tied the knot with non-showbiz partner Reginald Santos, years after life took them on separate paths.
During their wedding, the couple shared how reconnecting at just the right moment led them to choose each other again, this time with more clarity and intention.
“We fell in love and then life had interim plans for us. I once read that a great love story is when two people let go of one another only to eventually find their way back to each other. You were as I remembered, kind, loving, selfless, God-fearing,” Dr. Reginald said in his vows.
“We reconnected at the perfect time…We are now the best versions of ourselves,” he concluded.
Carla echoed the same sentiment in her own vows, showing just how in sync the two had become.
“I can never imagine my life or what life would be had we never met again. I’ve never laughed so good, eaten so much, slept so comfortably, learned a lot about life, communicated well, been taken care of this way and so much more before you happened again,” she said.
“Sometimes, the bad things that happened to us in our lives put us directly on the path towards the most wonderful things that will ever happen to us,” she added.
