Michael Sheen uses own money to free 900 people of debt, educates public on debts and loans

Michael Sheen uses £1 million of his own money to buy a debt acquisition company and free 900 strangers of their debt.

Actor Michael Sheen has always been about low-key philanthropy. Over the years, he has devoted much of his income to his charitable works without the world knowing about it.

In a rare opportunity to educate about debt, Sheen has partnered with British network BBC to document his journey to starting a debt acquisition company for £100,000 and proceeding to write off £1 million worth of strangers’ debt, effectively freeing 900 struggling individuals of their debt.

In the show Michael Sheen’s Secret Million Pound Giveaway, the not-for-profit actor literally put his money where his mouth is when he used his own money to help strangers overcome this debilitating financial challenge.

He also chose not to know the names of the people he has helped, only knowing the amount and type of debt they had.

Even before the show started to air, the actor received much love from fans who supported what he was doing.
