Makati City is only PH city to make it to Top 100 Global Healthcare rankings

Makati City ranks fourth in the list of cities with the best health care around the world.

Makati City’s healthcare services have long been praised across the Philippines. Now, it’s getting global attention too.

The local government unit placed fourth in the Numbeo Health Care Index 2025, earning a score of 85. It is the only Philippine city to break into the Top 100 worldwide.

Leading the list is Kaohsiung, Taiwan with a rating of 88.6 percent, followed by Taipei, Taiwan (86.7) and Chiang Mai, Thailand (85.0).

The Numbeo Health Care Index compares the quality of healthcare systems around the world on factors like staff competency, equipment, and cost. Scores are based on survey data and scaled from 0 to 100.

In a Facebook post, the Makati City government flexed the milestone, saying it “solidifies its reputation as a leader in global healthcare.”

Two other Philippine cities were also included in the rankings but placed outside the top 100. Manila ranked 215th with a score of 62.5, while Cebu City came in at 233rd with 60.7.
