Aga Muhlach is not raising any spoiled kids, even if he has the means to do so.
In an interview with Vice Ganda, the actor spilled the beans that he gave Atasha and Andres a stringent budget while they lived abroad, with a clear agreement that they couldn’t turn to him for financial bailouts.
During the interview, Aga debunked the notion that his kids were raised with lavish comforts, saying that they were raised to live modestly and become independent, especially when away from home.
“Alam mo kung magkano ang allowance nila? Magugulat ka. 400, 500 at most ay 600 euros. So that’s like Php36,000,” Aga revealed.
While the amount may seem generous back home in the Philippines, Vice pointed out that the cost of living abroad presents a whole different story.
Aga revealed that he made it clear to the kids that if they ran out of money, they couldn’t just call him for more money. He said they had to figure out how to earn extra cash on their own.
He recounted one incident when Andres failed to work with his budget and discovered there was no food at home. Left with no other option, he had to make do with a jar of peanut butter his parents had left behind during a visit.
“That’s irresponsible kasi. So ayun, alam na nya na kailangan kang magtabi ng grocery, ganyan,” Aga remarked.
The award-winning actor clarified that his kid’s allowance abroad is separate from the rent they pay for their apartments.
