Filipino-American baller Jalen Green has been proudly proclaiming his links to the Philippines ever since entering the National Basketball Association (NBA).
But last November 2, during the celebration of “Filipino Heritage Night”, Green took his love for his Pinoy roots to the next level as he rocked a pair of cool kicks on the hardwood, showcasing the vibrant colors of the Philippine flag.

But Green didn’t just look the part. As if inspired by the celebration of Filipino culture on his home floor, he balled out with a game-high 23 points, leading the Rockets to a victorious 128-119 win against the Charlotte Hornets.
Post-game, Green was all smiles, posing with a sea of fans, including throngs of Filipinos and Filipino-Americans who came out to support their kababayan go for daredevil drives and heart-pumping highlight reels.
And as a bonus, Green went on to sign his special kicks and gave them to lucky fans.
Surely, it was a night of pure happiness for Rocket fans with the win. But for the Pinoy crowd, it was a triple whammy—their team won, Green shone on the court, and the vibrant spirit of Philippine culture went on full display.
