Intramuros didn’t bag the title of Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction for 2024 at the 31st Annual World Travel Awards for no good reason. This Halloween, things will get extra spooky as tourists can explore the storied Walled City in a whole new light, literally.
The team behind “Intramuros After Dar” just dropped an invite on Facebook for their Halloween Night Walking Tour, running from October 31 to November 2. But here’s the catch: it’s not your average sightseeing trip.
“Tour requires a lot of walking, a short jeepney commute, starts at 10pm and may end at around 3am,” the organizers said.
For the brave souls ready to face the “dark” side, assembly time is at 9:30pm at Fred’s Revolucion, Escolta at The First United Building (East West Bank).
The eerie itinerary includes Calle Escolta (Whispers in the dark), the Manila Post Office across the Pasig River, the Yuchenco Promenade, Jones Bridge (Across what’s beyond the river banks), the Manila Cathedral, Plaza Roma, and Fort Santiago.
Tour participants will also walk through some of the most haunted spots in Manila: Calle Sta. Lucia (A walk on the dark side), Memorare Manila, San Agustin Church, a walk via Padre Burgos Drive, Paco Cemetery, Remedios Circle, and the Malate Church.
The tour ends with spine-chilling stories about the Sequoia Mansions and the abandoned Grand Boulevard Hotel. How about that for a “trick or treat” experience?
