IKEA is hiring for virtual jobs on Roblox—and the pay is amazing!

Furniture store IKEA is paying £13.15/hour to work in its new Roblox store under its “The Co-Worker Game,” its major step into mainstream gaming.

This is not a joke! IKEA is turning work into play with its latest gig, offering £13.15 (around Php980) per hour for a job in its brand-new store on Roblox.

According to the company website, this work set-up called “The Co-Worker Game,” which marks IKEA’s major leap into mainstream gaming, lets players experience working in IKEA’s virtual universe, live out their home-furnishing dreams, and get paid to do it.

“We’re excited to be the first brand to launch paid work on Roblox to showcase how we do careers differently, bringing our unique careers philosophy to life,” said Darren Taylor, Country People and Culture Manager for IKEA UK and Ireland.

“At IKEA, there is no set route to career progression. Our co-workers are able to change roles, switch departments, and grow in any direction they choose, both in the game or in the real world. There are many ways to learn and grow at IKEA, and that’s what IKEA on Roblox is all about,” he added.

Here’s the scoop: 10 successful applicants will score paid shifts, assisting customers and moving up the ranks across different departments like the Showroom and Bistro. Yes, they might even be serving those iconic meatballs!

Applications are open until June 16, with the game debuting on June 24. Just one catch: applicants should be 18 and above and based in the UK or the Republic of Ireland.
