Hong Kong is still Filipino traveler’s fave spot, welcomes millionth visitor from PH!

Hong Kong has welcomed its millionth visitor from the Philippines on November 30, making the city the top travel destination for Filipinos.

Hong Kong is still the go-to destination for Filipino travelers, with the city celebrating the arrival of its millionth Filipino visitor for this year on November 30.

“We are thrilled that Hong Kong has become the top travel destination for Filipino travelers,” said the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) in a report by The Sun Hong Kong.

The lucky millionth visitor was Miguel Linao, who touched down in Hong Kong on November 29 with his wife and kids. The family flew in for their daughter’s gymnastics competition, plus some sightseeing since it wasn’t their first time in the city.

Data from HKTB revealed that from January to October 2024, 920,000 Filipino visitors made up about 40% of the 2.3 million Southeast Asian arrivals, excluding Filipinos living and working in the region.

With just a two-hour flight from Manila and no visa requirements, it’s no surprise Hong Kong remains a favorite among Pinoys. The must-see spots are Disneyland, the Ladies’ Market in Mong Kok, Avenue of the Stars, and the vibrant Tsim Sha Tsui district.
