Princess Punzalan, who is best known for bringing to life Celina, one of Philippine television’s most memorable villains from “Mula sa Puso” is adding a new chapter to her acting career after a long hiatus.
The veteran actress has landed a role in the popular US series “The Cleaning Lady.” In the show, Punzalan portrays the character Alma dela Rosa, who is the mother-in-law of Thony (played by Elodie Yung) and the mother of Fiona (played by Martha Millan).
“The Cleaning Lady” follows the story of Thony, an immigrant mother in the United States who goes to great lengths to ensure the well-being of her son. Punzalan’s character adds depth to the family dynamics portrayed in the series, reported The Philippine Daily Inquirer.
When asked about her experience working with an international crew, Punzalan mentioned that despite differences in language and equipment, the cast and crew have formed a close-knit bond like a family.
Reflecting on her experience, Punzalan expressed that she felt at home on set and credited her acting training with Billy Hufsey for helping her feel confident alongside American actors.
She also advised Pinoy actors to keep grinding to achieve their Hollywood dream.
“Accept and embrace who you are. There is a role for every gender, race, and personality, so just be patient and persevere. Keep your skills sharp by studying, observing, and practicing. Be a good and sincere human being to everybody you meet. No one makes it alone. We need a team. People help people, and with God’s help, we can get there,” she advised.
