Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto earned praise online after a resident called out the city for providing benefits even to non-voters and renters living in Pasig.
In a Facebook post, Mhecz Conde shared how their family, despite not being registered voters in the city, consistently received assistance from the local government and their barangay.
“Hindi kami botante sa Pasig, nangungupahan lang kami… pero nakakatanggap kami palagi ng Christmas Gift pack na wala nang lista-lista pa,” Conde wrote.
The post also cited support at the barangay level, noting that residents who are not voters still receive aid.
“Hindi kami botante ng Barangay Santolan pero nagbibigay ng bigas yung barangay namin na walang zone leader na taga-lista,” Conde said.
Conde further pointed out the city’s disaster preparedness efforts, saying safety measures are extended to everyone regardless of voter status.
“Hindi kami botante ng Pasig pero sinisiguro mo na safe kami sa bagyo kaya may pa-emergency go bag ka pa,” the post read.
“Parehas ang trato n’yo… sa tulad namin na nangungupahan lang. Sa pagkakaalam ko sa ibang lungsod, hindi naman ganito,” he said.
