From sneakers to scents, St. Luke’s Medical Center throws the ultimate nurse appreciation bash!

In celebration of International Nurses Week, St. Luke’s Medical Center pulled out all the stops to show its appreciation for its nurses with free meals, branded sneakers, perfumes, and more.

Although hospitals in the country aren’t always the top choice for many Filipino nurses, one institution knows how to treat them right, making an effort to indulge them for all the hard work they do.

From fancy kicks and perfumes to gourmet meals, St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) pulled out all the stops to celebrate International Nurses Week in style.

SLMC took to social media to drop the details on the lineup of surprises awaiting its nurses as a gesture of gratitude for their hard work and dedication. These included free duty meals and a Nurses’ Pop-Up Store, where nurses could enjoy a complimentary shopping experience for rubber shoes from top brands like ASICS, New Balance, Onitsuka, and Salomon.

The hospital also collaborated with Fresh Fragrance Store to give nurses access to a wide selection of scents from luxe brands like Lacoste, Issey Miyake, Calvin Klein, and Kenzo.

To add to the excitement, SLMC also had nurses on the edge of their seats with hourly raffle draws, dishing out prizes like weekend staycations at 5-star hotels in Manila, gadgets, and home appliances.

“These events are a small token of our immense gratitude for all you do. Your well-being is important, and we hope these experiences bring you joy, comfort, and a much-deserved sense of appreciation,” said the letter signed by Dr. Dennis Serrano, also the hospital’s president and CEO.

This gesture was met with praise online—from netizens and nurses alike:

“Never ever seen one like this in the Philippines! Nice one! Happy Nurse’s Week,” commented a netizen.

“I hope all hospitals are like this…Appreciating the VALUE of nurses. Without nurses hospitals are not going to function well,” said another.

“Thank you St. Luke’s for always taking care of your nurses.”

“St. Lukes never fails to surprise and appreciate us. The true nature of culture of care only at St Lukes,” commented an SLMC nurse.
