From court rivals to off-court BFFs: Volleyball superstars Aby Maraño and Mylene Paat’s winning friendship

Chery Tiggo Crossovers Aby Maraño and Mylene Paat have gone from fierce on-court rivals to best friends on and off the court.

Volleyball superstars Mylene Paat and Aby Maraño have long been adversaries on the court, representing different teams for nearly a decade.

Mylene excelled with the Adamson Lady Falcons, while Aby dominated with the De La Salle University Lady Spikers. Their professional careers continued the trend, with Aby playing for F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and Mylene joining the Cignal HD Spikers.

But fate intervened and these former rivals found themselves united under the banner of the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.

But more than being teammates, Aby and Mylene have blossomed into BFFs as seen in the former’s heartfelt Instagram post.

“Life is peaceful when you become best friends with a girl who never makes things competitive, never jealous of each other, always supportive, can talk to about anything, literally sit in silence for hours but not care and just enjoy each others company, always hyping each other up, there for each other and have a beautiful connection. @mypaat_7” wrote Aby.

The video also captured moments of camaraderie as they stretched and grooved to Justin Bieber’s “Favorite Girl” during practice.

With their combined skills, the Crossovers have charged into the semifinals of the 2024 All-Filipino Conference of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

Could a championship be on the horizon? With Aby and Mylene leading the way, it’s certainly a possibility.
