Filipino accent just got hotter: It’s the new sexy at #21 on the global list!

The Filipino accent ranked 21st in the global sexy list by travel website Big 7 Travel.

Who knew that the way Pinoys say “maganda” and “kuya” could be so charming? The Filipino accent just earned its spot as the 21st sexiest accent globally, according to Big 7 Travel.

While French and Italian are still up there on the list, the Filipino language—with a cute mix of Tagalog and English and peppered with that familiar sing-song intonation, has officially caught international attention, Seasia.co reported based on the list compiled by the travel website.

Big Travel 7 describes it perfectly: “Gentle and soft, the accents you’ll hear when in the Philippines are simply lovely.”

Perhaps, it’s not just about the words used but also the warmth and hospitality behind them, which Pinoys are very much known for, that make the Filipino accent sexy. From “kumain ka na ba?” to Taglish conversations, there’s a heartfelt authenticity that can be felt.

By the travel website’s book, the Kiwi or New Zealand accent is the sexiest of them all, followed by Akfrikaans of South Africa, with its “unique tones and Saffa slang.”

The other accents that make the world swoon and rounded out the Top 10 are Irish, Italian, Australian, Scottish, French, Spanish, South USA and Brazilian.

Big Travel 7 compiled the list using a ranking system it developed to ensure that it showcases “only the very best places.”

It noted, “There’s almost 7,000 languages in the world, with even more varieties and accents, but which is the best? We looked to our audience to find out your pick for the top 50 in 2019.”
