Alex Eala’s 2025 run just keeps getting better.
Before she even clinched her first SEA Games gold in women’s singles, the Pinay tennis star had already scored another major win, this time from fans around the world.
Eala was named the winner of the WTA’s “Moments of the Year,” after tennis fans voted her for delivering two of the most memorable highlights of the season.
In a social media post, the WTA pointed to Eala’s historic Miami Open campaign, where she reached the semifinals of a WTA 1000 tournament, as well as her marathon tie-break win over Maya Joint at the Eastbourne Open, which topped the WTA 250 category.
The Rafa Nadal Academy, where she began training at just 13, also celebrated her win:
