In a moment of clarity, actress Heart Evangelista had a realization that struck her like a lightning bolt: Your partner should be your closest confidant, your best friend.
And for her, it’s always been Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero—the man who stands by her side, ready to face problems head-on, hand in hand.
“Family first. Now I know that,” Heart said in a recent episode of “Adulting with Heart and Chiz,” titled “Love, Marriage, Friendship, and How to Deal with Heartbreak.” The episodes are aired on Heart’s YouTube channel.
In the episode, Heart didn’t shy away from sharing just how crucial Chiz is in her life. With a heartfelt smile, she confessed, “I realized, I can’t live without Chiz. I can lose it all except you.” It’s a revelation that left her beaming, a realization that her husband’s presence is an anchor that she truly cherishes.
“I’ve seen this many times, but I made a mistake. And it’s true I should only confide to you,” Heart humbly admitted, adding that she even hated her husband “for the wrong reasons.”
“I think I looked at you as the enemy when you were actually my guardian angel the whole time. But that’s what’s so beautiful about you is that you saw me for my everything, through everything—but you were so steady. I thought you were emotionless, honestly. But in the end, you’re still here,” Heart said.
Last year, the couple made headlines when rumors of their split circulated online. But the 38-year-old actress and socialite shut down the news with photos of them and Chiz’s two children all together to celebrate the New Year.
Despite their marital problems, Chiz assured Heart that he will never give up on her and their marriage “I’m like Jason Mraz and his song “I Won’t Give Up.” That’s in my playlist,” said Chiz.
