Traffic enforcer Ramiro Hinojas has just been catapulted to social media stardom, thanks to his creative style of managing traffic in his Santa Claus outfit, turning the chaotic streets of Pasay City into a festive spectacle.
But Mang Ramiro’s spirited performances aren’t just for the motorists’ amusement to keep their minds off the horrible traffic, especially during the holidays—he’s also grooving for his own well-being.
In the sweltering heat, he revealed, “Hindi mo na mawawala sa akin yun dahil kailangan ko magpraktis. Kasi pag di ako nagpeperform, nanghihina ako eh,” Ramiro told ABS-CBN News.
While entertaining commuters stuck in traffic, Mang Ramiro sees his dance routine as a form of exercise, emphasizing the importance of staying active in a job that involves long hours of standing still.
“Maraming mga kasama ko nagkandamatay dahil andito lang, hindi gumagalaw, nagkakasakit. Eh tayo madaming sakit kaya dapat mag-eexercise tayo,” he added.

Despite the challenges, Mang Ramiro is determined to bring joy to the streets and inspire his fellow traffic enforcers. He wants to prove to them that managing traffic doesn’t have to be monotonous and that it can actually be a form of art.
“Ito na kasi pwede magawa (para) sa mga tao na naghihintay ng matagal para hindi naman sila naiinip sa pagiintay. Kahit paano meron sila nakikita na ibang tanawin,” he said.
“(Isa pa) Araw araw ganun (demonstrates hand gesture of trafffic enforcers). Kailangan ibahin mo naman ang style,” he added.
