It’s the OPM saga that has everything: a meteoric rise to fame, a breakup that shattered a nation, and an epic reunion that sealed their place in music history. Now, the Eraserheads, the band often dubbed the “Beatles of the Philippines,” are finally ready to share their side of the story.
Ely Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala, and Raimund Marasigan are starring in their first ever docu-film, “Eraserheads: Combo on the Run,” which is hitting cinemas from March 21 to 23.
“This is more than music—it’s their journey,” said the producer of the docu-film, Warner Bros Philippines. “One weekend. One epic ride,” it added.
The trailer teases a deeper look into the band’s highly anticipated reunion in 2022, which came two decades after their sudden split. The reunion wasn’t just a milestone for fans, but also for the band themselves, who shared their personal struggles along the way.
“In 2022, during a time of uncertainty and political upheaval, this disbanded group of punks reunite to provide solace to a nation,” it said. “Unknowingly needing healing themselves, who says punks can’t unite a divided nation?” it asked.
From the challenges leading up to their reunion to their world tour in 2024 (with stops in the U.S., Singapore, and Dubai), “Eraserheads: Combo on the Run” is shaping up to be an emotional, unforgettable ride.
