Cluck yeah! Davao del Sur is now the home of the largest mega poultry farm in the country

Communities will benefit from livelihood opportunities while the facility boosts the Philippines’ food security.

Communities in Davao del Sur are about to get a poultry upgrade like never before. The Philippines’ largest mega poultry farm, capable of handling a whopping 80 million birds per year, has been unveiled to make a clucking difference for local communities and the Pinoy food scene.

This colossal Magnolia Poultry Farm by San Miguel Corp. isn’t just about feeding the nation. It’s a game-changer in reducing the Philippines’ reliance on imported chicken products so Pinoys can say hello to a future where they can easily and consistently access affordable, top-quality chicken meat from the market.

Beyond filling our plates, this farm is also set to be a lifeline for local economic growth, creating more job opportunities that will help surrounding communities thrive.

Local farmers will also have a golden chance to be part of the poultry farm’s supply chain, giving a boost to the local agricultural scene—a win-win for everyone.

“This farm alone will create some 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, benefiting mostly people in nearby communities. There is also a big opportunity for our local corn and cassava farmers, who can directly supply us with raw materials for chicken feed production,” said San Miguel Corp. President and CEO Ramon S. Ang.

He also said that the poultry farm is SMC’s resounding statement of their commitment to advance the government’s food security agenda. The company is also spreading its wings in various agricultural sectors, including pork production and aquaculture, ensuring a food-secure future for all Pinoys.

Ang, with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., celebrated on Oct. 12 the grand unveiling of this state-of-the-art facility nestled in the heart of Hagonoy, Davao del Sur.
