Classic OFW film by Malaysian director screened in Singapore anew

Pinoy Sunday, a comedy-drama film about Filipino immigrants in Taiwan, was screened at Singapore’s Oldham Theater over the weekend.

“Pinoy Sunday,” a film about two Overseas Filipino Workers in Taipei who find a beautiful leather couch and encounter shenanigans along the way, was among the films that were screened at the Oldham Theater in Singapore last weekend.

The film by Malaysian director Wi Ding Huo earned him the Best New Director Award at the 47th Golden Horse Awards in 2010.

The film was Wi’s first feature film and was praised for telling a poignant immigrant story interspersed with drama and comedy. The film features Epi Quizon and Bayani Agbayani in the lead roles.
