Cinema One turns May into a full-on tribute to Nora Aunor, Pinoy movie queens, and iconic moms

Consider your weeknights officially booked as Cinema One screens movies of the late Superstar Nora Aunor and other Filipina movie icons this entire May.

Cinema One is filling May with major nostalgia and all-out love for Filipino film icons, starting with a tribute to the one and only Superstar, Nora Aunor.

Every Sunday at 10 p.m. this month, the channel’s “Restored Cinema” will screen three of Ate Guy’s most unforgettable films: “Minsa’y Isang Gamu-Gamo” (May 11), “Bulaklak sa City Jail (May 18), and the legendary “Himala” (May 25), announced ABS-CBN.

These screenings come just weeks after the National Artist’s passing in April.

But there’s more to this throwback feels because at 3 p.m. on the same Sundays, viewers can also catch a Mother’s Day-themed lineup starring other Filipino cinema queens. Expect Sharon Cuneta’s “Madrasta,” Angel Locsin’s “One More Try,” and Vilma Santos’ “Anak” in the small screen.

Judy Ann Santos fans are also getting fed. Cinema One is also showing three of her films every Monday night: “Kahit Isang Saglit,” “Don’t Give Up on Us,” and “Sabel.”
