ARMYs may not be all big fans of sports but they may find one big reason to cheer at the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

According to All Kpop, BTS’ Jin will be a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics on July 27 (KST). He will soon leave for France, though exact dates and locations have not been disclosed. After his recent military discharge, Jin is engaged in various activities, including preparing for his solo comeback.

The Paris Olympic torch, which was lit in Greece, arrived in France last month. It will journey through over 400 locations, covering about 12,000 kilometers, before the opening ceremony on July 27. About 11,000 torchbearers, including Jin, athletes, Holocaust survivors, relatives of the Nice terror attack victims, astronauts, and sanitation workers, will participate.

The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11, with over 15,000 athletes from 206 countries competing in 329 events across 32 sports. South Korea will send up to 142 athletes in 21 sports, aiming for gold in archery, fencing, badminton, and taekwondo. The Korean team’s send-off ceremony is on July 9.
