Nestled in Laguna and popular for its rejuvenating hot spring resorts, this gem of a city boasts the cleanest air in the Philippines and clinched the sixth spot as the cleanest city in all of Southeast Asia, according to the 2023 IQAir World Air Quality Report.

With a low PM2.5 level of just 8.2 μg/m3, Calamba is making strides in combatting air pollution through its various eco-friendly and sustainability initiatives. From cracking down on single-use plastics to revamping its waste management system, the city is paving the way for a more sustainable future.

Under the leadership of Mayor Roseller Rizal and the Calamba Environment and Natural Resources Office team, initiatives like Task Force KKK are working to keep the city clean and green.

And with a previous accolade as the cleanest city in Southeast Asia in 2018, Calamba is proving its commitment to a healthier environment.

In the same study that analyzed air quality in 7,812 cities worldwide, and 357 regional cities in Southeast Asia, Carmona, Cavite snagged the ninth spot as the cleanest city in the region with 8.9 μg/m3, while Balanga, Bataan came in 11th with 9.2 μg/m3.
