Bianca Bustamante leaves McLaren with ‘full heart,’ embraces change and growth with Elite Motorsport

Filipina racing sensation Bianca Bustamante has expressed her gratitude to McLaren for giving her a break in Formula 1 racing as she moves on to Elite Motorsport and is set to compete in the 2025 GB3 Championship.

Filipina racing star Bianca Bustamante is switching gears, literally. She’s set to compete in the 2025 GB3 Championship with Elite Motorsport, moving on from her time with McLaren.

While the 20-year-old Pinay may be gearing up for a new challenge and embracing her “Elite” era, she remains grateful for her time with McLaren, which signed her in October 2023 under its Driver Development Programme.

“I look back at my time with McLaren with a full heart… I learned so much during my 2 years in the @f1academy, and its prepared me well in many ways for the next step in my racing career, truly proud to be a graduate of F1 Academy,” shared Bianca in an Instagram post, thanking McLaren’s team for their support.

It was such an invaluable experience, one that I never would have imagined as a junior driver. You all helped me get to where I am today,” she added.

Now, she’s all set to hit the track with a fresh start.

“The new season officially kicks off for us today as it’s my first days testing in the brand new Tatuus MSV GB3-025. Honestly the car looks and feels amazing, so much to learn and develop to prepare for our season,” she said, comparing the experience to a “first day of school.”

Bianca is set to make her Elite debut this April at the Silverstone Circuit in England.
